Former Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has voiced his opinion on the Rodgers sacking.
Speaking this evening, the Liverpool legend questioned “why Liverpool hired him in the first place”.
Souness continued saying his was “shocked” after the huge budget Brendan was allowed to work with, seeing as he wasn’t going to last the season. He also went on to say that Liverpool have become a “selling club”, after not replacing world class talent they have sold.
“But with all due respect I don’t see why they gave Brendan Rodgers the job in the first place.
“Liverpool go out and buy the best young players, develop them and then hope to sell them. They have become a selling club.”
Liverpool drew 1-1 with Everton this afternoon in the Merseyside derby at Goodison. Liverpool currently sit 10th in the Premier League after a slow start.
