South Korean star Son Heung Min is set to return to London after his national team crashed out of the Asian Cup.

South Korea lost to Qatar in the quarter-final of the tournament by 1-0.

South Korean star Son Heung Min would be on his flight back to London as he is set to join Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League after his national team’s Asian Cup campaign was cut short by Qatar in the quarter-final. South Korea lost by 1-0 to the hosts of the 2022 FIFA World Cup to see themselves crash out of the prestigious tournament.

The news comes as a great relief for the north London club, who have been ravaged by injuries in the last couple of months to see their Premier League campaign hit a huge roadblock. With talismanic forward Harry Kane sidelined with a knee injury for one month, there has been no significant player to lead the line. They also faced a huge setback in the case of Dele Alli, who has also been sidelined with an injury for six weeks.

In this situation, the return of their star forward in the form of Son comes as a piece of great news for Spurs and Mauricio Pochettino, as he was caught scratching his head to find a viable option to lead the line for his side. Fernando Llorente has never looked like the replacement for Kane and hopefully, the return of the South Korean striker would provide the much-needed impetus for the north London club to get their Premier League campaign back on track.
