Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino believes his side are geniune contenders for a Champions League spot after they picked up an impressive point at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Despite going 1-0 down to the champions after Robin Van Persie netted in the first-half, The Saints managed to bounce back and with just minutes left on the clock, centre-back, Dejan Lovren, turned home from a corner to stun the home-crowd.

Pochettino’s men are currently sitting in sixth just behind Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, who they have beaten earlier on in the season at Anfield, and their foreign manager believes that a Champions League spot isn’t out of their hands.

‘Why not? We want to keep on believing we can do well. We’re on a positive run and the sky is the limit.

‘My players were amazing against United. I never face a game in a fearful way and we showed that by pushing for the winner against United after we had equalised.

‘Getting a good win at Anfield and a positive draw today is amazing for the club and shows how we want to move forward – and it gives the young players belief.’
