Reports claim that Manchester United have sent officials to Portugal to begin negotiations over a £37m deal for William Carvalho.
However Sporting chairman De Carvalho has ended all speculation by claiming the club have not opened any transfer talks over the 22 year-old’s future.
The chairman spoke to A Bola: “We haven’t received any formal or informal proposals for any of our players.”
United, Chelsea and Monaco have all been linked with the Portuguese international but Sporting are not worried about losing their young talent due to the €45million release fee written into his contract.
Despite claiming the club have not received any formal offers for Carvalho, the Sporting chairman is well aware of how quickly things can change as the transfer window wears on.
The defensive midfielder has already made appearances at the World Cup with Portugal and the speculation over the youngster’s future will carry on as the summer progresses and interest from clubs grow.
