Milner can operate in his favoured position in central midfield but has been used by City on the wings, which his oppurtunities; which have been limited this season due to the form of Jesus Navas and Samir Nasri.
Gareth Barry, who is on loan at Everton, has also been seen as an English and experienced loss to Ethiad.
