The Roma striker has been heavily linked with a move away from Italy either in January or in the summer, with Arsenal thought to be leading the race.
But reports have emerged in Italy that Tottenham have made contact with the capital club over the 23 year-old as boss Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his attacking options.
Roma appear to be preparing for the sale of a forward after they stepped up their interest in Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano and Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah.
However if Destro is to make a move from the Stadio Olimpico, the North London pair will need to act quickly as fellow Serie A side AC Milan are also reportedly interested in acquiring the Italian’s services.
