Tottenham have added their name to a list of clubs interested in signing West Brom and England under 21 international Saido Berahino.
The 21 year old is the Premier League’s top English goal scorer, with 5 to his name so far this term.
Tottenham are prepared to pay £15 million to acquire his services, but Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea are also keen on the in form striker.
Berahino was tipped to be in Roy Hodgson’s senior squad for the just gone qualifiers, but instead has continued to thrive under Gareth Southgate, in the under 21 set up.
He played a pivotal role in ensuring England qualified for the European Under 21 Championships, scoring a crucial penalty in the first leg against Croatia.
West Brom manager Alan Irvine is desperate for the young star to stay at the Hawthorns, but concedes it will be a real challenge keeping him.
“If Saido gets to the stage where there’s a whole load of big clubs chasing after him, then he’ll have done a brilliant job for us in the meantime. Then it becomes a matter of whether the club want to do business with anyone or not.”
