Tottenham are considering a move for ex-Liverpool and Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez as they look to replace Tim Sherwood over the summer.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is expected to formally sack Sherwood at some point this week and has already started the hunt for his replacement, claiming he wants a ‘safe pair of hands’ to steady the ship at White Hart Lane.
Benitez is currently at Napoli, recently winning the Coppa Italia to add another trophy to his honours, which already includes trophies with English and Spanish clubs. He still has family links in the UK, which could tempt him to a return.
Tottenham have found it difficult to find a replacement for Sherwood, with Louis Van Gaal set to be offered the position, that broke down because of his strong links with the Manchester United job.
Spurs are expected to make contact with Benitez over the next few days.
