Chelsea should sign forward Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to former Liverpool ace Stan Collymore.
The Chile international has not yet signed a contract extension at the Emirates Stadium and is rumoured to leave the Gunners this summer after feeling let down by the team’s lack of progress in the Premier League and Europe.
Reports suggest the London outfit will not allow Sanchez to join a rival club at the end of the campaign, but Collymore stresses that Chelsea should do everything they can to sign the in-form 28-year-old.
“I could see him [Alexis Sanchez] at Chelsea and being incredible,” Collymore wrote in his Daily Mirror column.
“Imagine a frontline with Diego Costa down the middle, Eden Hazard and [Alexis] Sanchez on the wings with a quality No. 10 behind. That would be awesome.
“He would be the kind of player Chelsea boss Antonio Conte would love – work rate, desire and genuine world class.
“And we need in the Premier League as many world-class players as we can get our hands on.
“So I am pleading for a Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool – any of the teams to finish in the top four with the money – to go and put in a bid for him, tell him you will put your arm around him and win trophies with him.”
