Citizens will make winger one of their highest paid players

Manchester City are prepared to offer Raheem Sterling a contract worth £200k-a-week if he chooses to move to them over the Summer.

The England international is set to tell his current club Liverpool that he wants out at the end of the season in order to move to a club where he can compete for trophies on a regular basis.

Sterling’s Bombshell

The news broke earlier this week and has rocked Anfield with contract talks scheduled for the end of the season after the winger said he wanted to wait until all the football had been played.

However, since then, The Reds were eliminated from the FA Cup and also missed out on Champions League football for next season, making Sterling rethink his future.

In an interview earlier this season, the 20-year-old admitted it’s not about the money for him, it’s about being at the right club who can compete for titles and trophies each season.

Heavy Interest in Winger

After the bombshell on Monday night, interest in Sterling has already picked up, with Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and even Bayern Munich all reportedly interested.

As reported earlier, Chelsea are prepared to sell two stars in order to sign Sterling, but City are already putting together a contract worth potentially £200k-a-week to the winger.

City Offering Big Money

It’s reported that City will offer him a five-year deal and a basic salary of £200k-a-week, plus bonuses, which is double what Liverpool were prepared to offer him earlier this season.

It’s also nearly six times what he currently earns at Anfield. His weekly wage now stands at £35k-a-week.

City will have to cough up a big transfer fee as well in order to secure Sterling, with Liverpool wanting at least £50million due to his contract still running until 2018.

However, the longer Liverpool decide to keep Sterling, the more his value declines.
