Midfielder to retire in November?

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard could call it a day at the end of the MLS season in November and will look to get into coaching.

Now playing for LA Galaxy in America, the midfielder could be set to hang up his boots at the end of the season, which comes to an end later this year, and he’s already set his sights on a coaching role.

Despite still playing for the American side, Gerrard has been studying his A licence coaching badge.

Speaking about his future, Gerrard discussed his plans come November and admitted that it could be time to call it a day.

Gerrard’s Future

“I’m at a little bit at a crossroads at the moment, what to do, whether to call it a day at the end of the season, or whether maybe to do one more, but we’ll have to wait and see,” Gerrard said in an interview with MR PORTER, an online lifestyle magazine.

“The season finishes here in November. Most seasons in Europe finish in May.

“Maybe some football offers might come my way, maybe some coaching roles will come my way.

“It’s basically me being available come Christmas to offers. I’m doing my coaching badges and I’m on my A license as we speak.

“Hopefully I’m going to be in a position to consider some offers very seriously come Christmas.”

Return to Liverpool First Choice

The ex-Liverpool star was then asked about where he’d like to coach, and the Englishman admitted that the Reds would be his first choice, but he wouldn’t be against working elsewhere.

He added: “I’m always going to biased towards Liverpool, and the FA, because it’s where I spent all my career as a player, but when I retire from football, I am going to be available for people to offer me roles if they feel I’m one of the candidates.

“Would I go for another role in the game if any offers didn’t come my way? Yeah I would.”
