Steven Gerrard out for three weeks

Liverpool’s injury woes have worsened with skipper, Steven Gerrard, set to miss the next three weeks due to a hamstring injury.

The midfielder limped off during the club’s 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur just after the hour mark, and is now set to have further scans in order to see the full extent of the injury.

However, early indications seem that Gerrard could miss nearly a month of action with Brendan Rodgers sweating over the news.

Gerrard joins other midfielder, Lucas Leiva, on the injury list with the Brazilian set to miss six weeks due to a thigh problem, and it comes at a bad time for The Reds as their fixture list piles up with the return of the Europa League.

If Gerrard is likely to miss three weeks, it will force Rodgers into pushing Emre Can forward into the midfield after recently being used in the back-line.
