Ex-skipper sends good luck message ahead of season opener

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has sent the club a good luck message ahead of their first Premier League game today against Stoke City.

The Reds return to the ground where they were battered 6-1 on the final day of last season, and their ex-skipper has sent in a good luck video from America.

Gerrard ended his long-term association with the club after agreeing to join LA Galaxy over the summer, but that hasn’t stopped him from wishing his former-team mates and former club luck ahead of the 2015/2016 season.

Good Luck Message

The 35-year-old, who spent 27-years at Anfield, said: “I would just like to take this opportunity to wish Brendan, all his staff, all the players a very successful season.

“I’m going to be watching and supporting my ex-team-mates and all the new signings and hopefully come May we will be celebrating some silverware and a very good season.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to say hello and good luck to all our supporters, at home and around the world and hopefully you will be happy come May.

“Best of luck.”
