Stoke still chasing Assaidi

Stoke manager Mark Hughes has not given up his pursuit of signing Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi.

The 25 year-old joined Stoke at the beginning of last season, where the winger enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Britannia Stadium.

And now boss Hughes is ready to make his return permanent, but a fee has not been agreed between the two clubs yet.

Liverpool’s asking price of ÂŁ7m is appearing to be the stumbling block of this deal, but some reports suggest that Assaidi’s demands of earning ÂŁ45,000 a week is also causing problems.

However, Hughes remains hopeful an agreement can be reached.

“It’s on-going and these things happen. Everybody knows we are interested and that is still the case,” said Hughes.

Assaidi made 25 appearances for the Potters last season and scored five goals.

He joined Liverpool from Dutch club Heerenveen for ÂŁ2.4m in August 2012 but has yet to start a Premier League game for the Reds.
