Stop provoking me, says Suarez

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has asked opponents to stop provoking him on the pitch so that he can avoid getting into trouble.

The Uruguayan has just returned from a 10-match ban which he picked up last season for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic and it isn’t the first time he’s been in trouble on the pitch.

Another biting incident during his Ajax days and also racial abuse aimed towards Manchester United’s Patrice Evra have tarnished the striker’s name.

However, he has now revealed that he believes players provoke him on the pitch and that is why he lashes out.

‘During the months I was off I meditated very much because of my desire to break to false image that I believe the supporters have of me at the moment.

‘I want to stay isolated on the pitch to avoid the provocation from rivals.’
