The Blues have been handed a boost after Emanuele Giaccherini’s agent talked up a potential move to the Bridge this summer.
Giaccherini has come as a surprise target for the 2015 season Premier League champions following the newly appointment of his current national coach Antonio Conte.
The Italian International netted Italy’s winner in a stunning 2-0 victory over the Swedes in their second Euro game.
The star midfielder spent the 2015/16 on loan over at Serie A club Bologna and to top it all off the 31-year-old midfielder scored seven goals in 24 games.
However, according to his agent, the Italian forward is keen on a move to Chelsea if Conte was to be appointed to the Blues.
“Giaccherini is a player who played 80 per cent of the games for a Juventus that had Pogba, Pirlo, Vidal and Marchisio in the midfield,” Furio Valcareggi is quoted by Daily Star.
“Conte likes him a lot and Chelsea would be a dream.
“It’s still too early to talk about his future. After the Euros, whoever wants to buy him will not have to pay a high price to Sunderland.”
Giaccherini won two Serie A titles and the Italian Super Cup under Conte during his two-year stay at Juventus before he completed a move to Sunderland in 2014
