The Dutch midfielder who currently plays for Roma has reportedly ‘shaken hands’ on a deal which will take him to Old Trafford at the end of Season.
Strootman has been heavily linked with Manchester United over the last few months, and it is widely known that the United boss thinks a lot of the Dutch talisman.
Hugo Borst who is a friend of the United chief has said;
‘In the spring there was a match between PSV and Feyenoord,’ he explained.
‘Van Gaal was there with Strootman and Van Persie. It was already known Van Gaal was going to United and he asked Strootman if he was interested in joining United.
‘He said he was willing and they have already shaken hands on a deal. It won’t be in January, but next summer.’
It is estimated that the ‘Dutch Roy Keane’ will cost United £25million.
