After Liverpools 4-0 win against Fulham on Saturday, Luis Suarez has revealed that he used to play as Steven Gerrard on PlayStation games as a youngster, hoping that one day it would become a reality.

“When I was a child, I saw him on the TV and played with him on the PlayStation. Now I play with him. He helps in the dressing room and helps all the players – he is a great captain” the Uruguayan revealed.

The world class striker, whos goal tally now reaches 8 goals in 7 matches, admitted that whilst being raised in Salto he would always play as Liverpool FC on video games.

It is clear to see that Gerrard and Suarez have formed, what some may call, an unlikely friendship since the Uruguyan joined to Reds in January of 2011 with Gerrard classing him as one of the top four players in the world.

Gerrard, who will now go ahead to captain England for their match against Chile on Friday, has been full of praise for Suarez for having to do the ‘dirty jobs’ and putting in the hard work, even backing him to win the coveted Ballon d’Or award.

Suarez is also heading off to Jordan to partake in his international duty.

“After the game against Fulham, it will be a big change because when you play with the national team it’s so different. We’ve played for the last two years of qualification for the World Cup. Now we have a play-off; we’ll try our best because Uruguay need to reach the World Cup.”
