Magpies have £12million bid accepted for midfielder
Swansea City Football Club have accepted a £12million bid from Newcastle United for midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.
The England international has fallen out of favour with new interim-manager Alan Curtis at the Liberty Stadium and he’s now set to end his association with the Swans.
The Magpies initially made a bid worth around £10m for Shelvey yesterday, but saw that offer rejected, only for them to make a fresh offer today worth an extra £2m.
Second Bid Accepted
According to BBC Wales, Steve McClaren made an immediate second bid after his first was turned down as he sees Shelvey as a crucial target and signing.
The 23-year-old has been at Swansea for three years now after he agreed to leave Liverpool due to lack of first-team football.
The midfielder has gone on to make 79 Premier League appearances for the Swans, scoring 10 goals.
