Swans want Frenchman on loan for second half of season

Swansea City have approached Chelsea regarding a possible loan-deal for striker Loic Remy.

The Frenchman is a backup option at Stamford Bridge to Diego Costa, and with the Euros just a few months away, Remy is desperate to play regular first-team football.

Swansea were interested in signing Remy over the summer, but their approaches were knocked back by Jose Mourinho and the Chelsea board.

However, with Mourinho out the door and a new manager set to come in, they could allow Remy to leave temporarily and bring in one of their own targets.

According to reports today, Guus Hiddink, who is the favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge, wants to sign Jamie Vardy or Saido Berahino for the club, which could then allow Remy to join Swansea.

Chelsea currently have Diego Costa, Remy and Radamel Falcao at the club, but all three are failing to impress in front of goal.

Swansea Pursuit

As for Swansea, they have also recently sacked their manager as Garry Monk was dismissed following a dreadful run of form, and despite that, they’re still ready to make an offer to Chelsea for Remy.

It’s reported Swansea will offer a ÂŁ1million loan-fee and will also cover the striker’s wages from January until May.

Goals are hard to find at the Liberty Stadium as well, with Bafetimbi Gomis struggling in front of goal despite his impressive start to the season.
