Dejan Kulusevski has not played for Tottenham Hotspur this season as they await his recuperation following surgery on his right patella in May. The Swedish playmaker, who made 50 appearances last season and contributed 10 goals and 11 assists, has been missed by Spurs. Graham Potter, the manager of Sweden, said he is getting closer to making a comeback.

According to Fotbollskanalen, Potter stated, “Dejan is moving forward.” He was content with his current state of recovery. Both Tottenham and he have control over it. However, when I last spoke with him, he was in a good mood, and I hope to see him sometime around Christmas or New Year’s. But the last time we spoke, he was content with his recovery and was in a good place. Then he was prepared to move forward.

However, there isn’t any tension involved. I am very certain that we will see him on the pitch soon if he completes his rehabilitation in a positive manner. Tottenham have greatly missed Kulusevski since they haven’t had his motivation.

Kulusevski could be back at Christmas or around New Year

Shortly after the injury, Kulusevski had surgery, and he has been recovering for the last five months, primarily out of the public eye. However, following Sweden’s 1-1 draw with Slovenia, Potter affirmed that the midfield player is at last entering the last phases of his recuperation.

According to his remarks, Sweden anticipates that Kulusevski will be healthy for the World Cup play-off match against Ukraine in March. With the Scandinavians finishing last in their qualifying group but earning a second shot through their performance in the Nations League, it is a crucial match.

Kulusevski shocked his followers in September by posting an unaltered photo after his surgery that showed the physicians holding his kneecap open. He included the mysterious caption, “Warning for sensitive content,” alongside it. I’m grateful that it occurred so I could see it clearly. In an interview with Viaplay, he seemed very upbeat despite the post’s explicit content.
