A young striker to watch: 16-year-old Swedish talent Kevin Filling is already turning heads.

The forward for AIK Fotboll made a splash in the 2025 season and is drawing links to the English Premier League’s elite, including Manchester United.

Early life & rise

Filling joined AIK’s academy in 2023 at age 14 and quickly established himself.

In his first season he scored 10 goals in 14 games at U16/U17 level, and the following year added 12 in 26 appearances. A brief loan spell at third-tier club Enköpings SK FK saw him score once in three matches.

In late June 2025 he got a surprise start for AIK in the Swedish top flight (Allsvenskan) and delivered: he scored the second goal in a 3-0 win over rival IFK Göteborg, curving his run and finishing calmly under pressure.

Following that, he signed his first professional contract with AIK, running until June 2028. He called it “a dream come true” and said his focus remains on the club.

He did face a setback: a knee injury kept him out for about two months. Since returning, he has featured off the bench, and scored a dramatic 96-minute headed winner against rivals IF Brommapojkarna.

Filling already stands at about 1.85 m (6’1) and shows a mix of physical presence, pace, and composure in front of goal. He can play centrally or drift wide and cut inside.

He has been compared to fellow Swede Alexander Isak — both came through AIK, both are forwards with strong finishing and movement. Filling himself acknowledges the comparison but emphasises their differences.

Areas for improvement include decision-making in possession: sometimes he holds the ball too long or runs into blind alleys. The club appears to be easing him into senior football carefully following his injury.

Transfer links & what’s next

Reports suggest Manchester United and other clubs in Europe are already monitoring him.

United are said to have opened “concrete negotiations” with AIK, but a transfer cannot happen until he turns 18 (November 2026) due to regulations. AIK values him around €5 million according to Swedish media.

Filling has remained grounded:

“It’s nothing special… I’m focused on AIK and that’s where all my focus lies.”

For now, his priority is to take a starting place at AIK, score regularly and continue his development step by step.

In short: Kevin Filling is a very promising young forward who has already made significant early strides at senior level.

While the hype is building and big clubs are circling, he seems firmly focused on his current club and growth.

It will be fascinating to see if he follows in the footsteps of Alexander Isak and breaks into the big European leagues in the coming years.
