According to reports, Benfica star Joao Felix will snub Manchester United and Manchester City to join Atletico Madrid instead. Felix has had a terrific season with Benfica, netting 20 goals and providing 11 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions. Felix’s performances attracted interest from many clubs including Manchester United and Manchester City.
Benfica chief said that Felix could be on the move away from the club. Then, it seemed like Felix would join Manchester United. However, now another club has joined the race to sign Felix and that’s Atletico Madrid. It seems like Atletico Madrid is close to signing Felix. Felix has a release clause of £105 million and Atletico Madrid are willing to pay it.
Atletico Madrid have already lost Lucas Hernandez and Antoine Griezmann and Diego Simeone is eager to bring in some reinforcements for the next season. Felix’s agent has convinced him to join Atletico Madrid and provided Felix does so, it will be a huge bonus for Atletico Madrid.
