Alex Teixeira has claimed he has been in negotiations with Chelsea over a possible transfer.
The forward has been the subject of serious interest from the Blues for some time and boss Jose Mourinho is keen to wrap up a deal for the 25-year old as soon as possible.
The Stamford Bridge outfit have struggled for goals up-front this season, with Costa and Hazard both failing to find the form that took Chelsea to the title last year.
Deal in the works
Mourinho believes Teixeira – who has been sensational for Shakhtar Donetsk so far, scoring 22 goals in 15 games – is the answer to their current goalscoring problems.
Now, the striker himself has revealed that talks have taken place, leading to speculation that a deal is very well in the works and could be done as soon as January.
Teixeira told Tuttojuve: “I know there is interest from Chelsea and there have been some talks, but at the moment nothing is concrete. Now I just want to go on vacation in Brazil then I will see what the future holds.”
It looks like we may soon see the striker banging in the goals in the Premier League.
