Ter Stegen set for Barcelona move.

Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen is a reported target for Spanish champions Barcelona, with some media outlets in Spain claiming that an agreement has been reached by all parties involved with the possible transfer.

The Catalan giants have tracked Ter Stegan’s progress in the Bundesliga, following the news that current goalkeeper Victor Valdes will be leaving Barcelona on a free transfer in the summer months, with French side AS Monaco and Premier League side Manchester City interested in the keeper, who spent 11 years at the Nou Camp.

Ter Stegen has been touted in some quarters as a long-term replacement for Victor Valdes, after impressing in the Bundesliga, and for the German under 21’s and full  national side, with Ter Stegan eyeing a place in Jochim Low’s World Cup squad, a big move may be what he needs.

Former Barca keeper Andoni Zubizarreta, now the club’s technical director, confirmed he had recently visited Germany and insisted their search for a successor to Valdes was ongoing.

But it seems that Zubizarreta and company have decided that Ter Stegan is the right man to replace Valdes, and a reported £8 million move will be ushered through, in time for the World Cup Finals.

Monchengladbach will also be owed another ÂŁ2 million for his sevices if Ter Stegen win’s a La Liga title, or if Barcelona go on to win the UEFA Champions League.

However Pepe Reina is still interested in a move to Barcelona, with the Spanish keeper on loan at Napoli, and he has currently confirmed that he will leave Liverpool at the n d of his loan spell.
