Sweden and Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that the 2014 World Cup in Brazil will not be worth watching now that he is not in it.

After falling short in their qualifying group stage, Sweden came up against Portugal in the play-off and after a 1-0 defeat in Lisbon, The Swedes had it all to do last night.

However, a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick helped the visitors book their spot for Brazil with a 4-2 win on aggregate.

Many people labelled the clash as Ronaldo vs Ibrahimovic, and on this occasion it was Ronaldo who triumphed with all four of Portugal’s goals, whilst Ibrahimovic had to settle for just two.

After the game, the striker commented on the defeat and said next Summer will now be pointless.

“It was probably the last attempt to reach the World Cup with the national team for me,” he said on his app, Zlatan Unplugged. “One thing is for sure, a World Cup without me is nothing to watch so it is not worthwhile to wait for the World Cup.

“Congratulations to Portugal but both teams deserved to get to the World Cup.

“The disappointment of course is great now that the World Cup in Brazil will remain a dream for the Swedish national team.”
