Jose Mourinho believes Belgium is on track to be fit by end of the year

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes Thibaut Courtois should be back fit by the end of the year.

The Belgium shot-stopper went under the knife earlier this season because of a torn meniscus which he suffered in training, and Mourinho expects him to be back in action in two months time.

Mourinho also admitted that the club were on the look out for another goalkeeper to help cover for Courtois‘ absence, but he wants to bring someone in now rather than in January as he feels the number-one will be back by then.

Chelsea have had Asmir Begovic filling in during Courtois’ absence, and although he’s done a good job in between the sticks, Mourinho knows what a boost it will be to have the Belgium back.

Courtois Update

The Portuguese said: “Courtois is recovering well, working well, but obviously he cannot fight the time. He has that time until he is back.

“December for him. First week, second, third? We don’t know, but it’s December for sure.

“Every thing has gone well. But apart from that – no injuries.”
