Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has praised Gareth Bale amidst rumours linking the Welshman with an exit to the Bernabeu.
The 30-year-old was handed a shock start by Zinedine Zidane in Real Madrid’s win ove Celta Vigo, where he set up Karim Benzema to score a goal.
The former Chelsea shot-stopper has given his view as he said,
”He is an important player and played a great match. Everyone loves him and it is important that he plays for us.”
“We are so happy with Bale.”
Bale was reportedly close to a move to China in the end of July but a Los Blancos pulled a plug on the deal. Zidane has also made it clesr that the Welshman is now set to be a part of his plans for the season.
Confirming his intentions, the Real Madrid manager said,
“He’s going to stay and we all have to think of that as a positive thing.”
“The injury to Eden Hazard was bad luck for us but it didn’t change the plans we had for Bale in this game.”
“Gareth and everyone else here is going to show this shirt the respect it deserves.”
Real Madrid will host Valladolid next Saturday as they look to build upon the lead in LaLiga.
