Young goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been told to return to Chelsea this summer- and begin next season as their new no.1.
The Belgian was heavily expected to return to loan club Atletico Madrid for a 4th season over the summer. Courtois has made it clear that he does not want to be understudy to Cech, with Real Madrid thought to be monitering the situation.
But according to The Sun, manager Jose Mourinho wants Courtois back at Stamford Bridge after Cech was injured in Chelsea’s Champions League semi-final with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, and is set to miss the rest of the season.
Cech faces up to 3 months on the sidelines, giving Courtois a huge oppertunity to show why he should be no.1 at the club, with Chelsea currently being forced to rely on veteran Mark Schwarzer.
