According to reports, Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has spoken to coach Maurizio Sarri and has expressed his desire to leave Stamford Bridge. Apparently, Courtois wants to go to Madrid to spend time with his kids. Courtois’ family lives in Madrid.
Earlier, there were reports that Courtois’ agent requested Maurizio Sarri to allow the Golden Glove winner to join Real Madrid.
Sarri said, “I have no reaction on the agent. I’m not interested in the agent. I want to hear Courtois. If Courtois says the same, I have to speak with my club of course because I only want players with a very high level of motivation — but I have nothing to respond to the agent.” Courtois has a year remaining on his current contract at Chelsea. The 26-year old returned to England today and has told Sarri that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge.
However, with only three days remaining for the closure of the transfer window, Chelsea will have to keep Courtois provided they do not find a replacement.
