Club legend would love to see Liverpool star at Emirates

Arsenal legend and Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry has admitted that he would love to see Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling complete a transfer from Anfield to the Emirates Stadium.

The England international is expected to leave the Merseyside club in the near-future after informing them that he has no plans on signing a contract extension.

Sterling’s Quit Threat

Sterling held an interview with BBC earlier in the season confirming that he won’t sign a contract until the end of the season, but reports broke earlier this week that he will tell Brendan Rodgers that he wants out of the club.

The news rocked Liverpool and a meeting is expected to be held between Sterling, Rodgers and Ian Ayre on Friday in order to discuss the saga, but it’s believed the 20-year-old won’t back down regarding his desire to quit.

Sterling insists that his future is not based on money, but based on being at the right club who can compete for trophies on a regular basis.

Since the news broke about the winger’s future, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been linked with a Summer move, whilst Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have also been touted as potential destinations.

However, Henry would love to see his former-club make a move for the Englishman.

Henry said: “He’s a great product for Liverpool and he’s going to be a great product for England.

“I would be more than happy to see him play for Arsenal but he’s still a Liverpool player.

“We all know he’s a Londoner, and we know Arsene is interested in him.”

Bookies Favourite

Early favourites for Sterling are Manchester City as they need to add youthful faces to their squad as well as English players, so Sterling fits both criteria.
