The mainstream media have linked just about every Football player there is to Chelsea, soon they will start linking NBA players to the club.
But realistically the mainstream media isn’t looking at the players they are linking, most of them a re well known names, however, they aren’t performing to the standard Conte will want.
Case in point the three mainstream media transfer targets I have listed in this article, NO WAY would any intelligent manager would even think about bringing these players in, unless they are looking to progress backwards.
Just take a look at these three players, then tell me Conte is keen to make a move for ANY of them
Lets start with…
3. Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City)
Sure he was PFA player of the year last season, BUT with only 9 goals and 7 assists in 42 appearances, he has not been in great form this season, I don’t think we are going to see any change anytime soon and Conte doesn’t need that headache, he’s had plenty of players he has worked with within Chelsea that he’s had to bring back to form and theres no guarantees that Mahrez will pick up next season.
Conte will be looking for a player that can make an impact on the club…he is not it.
