Tim sherwood’s lucky penalty escape

Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood admitted his side were very lucky not to concede a penalty with and encounter with Manchester united. Manchester United manager David Moyes was left angry after Howard Webb denied them what seemed to be a clear penalty after Manchester united star Ashley Young was taken clean out by Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Sherwood speaking out about the decision said “I haven’t seen it back but at the time I thought it was a penalty.”

“It was one of them that could have gone either way but if we have got away with that one, I’m pleased because I remember coming here with Harry (Redknapp). We were 2-0 up at half time and (Heurelho) Gomes made a save, he quite clearly played the ball first but they got penalty.”

“They even themselves out.”

Sherwood also raved about the performance of Emmanuel Adebayor had another fantastic performance for Tottenham Hotspur. He was quoting saying when he performs he is one of the best in the league. Sherwood also reckons he can keep his great form going for the rest of the season.

Adebayor was stretchered off in the second half and he is a doubt for the big FA cup game against former club Arsenal. He is waiting to find out the full extent of the injury but reckons it is not to serous.
