Time for Turkey..

Is the time up for the two Chelsea strikers?

According to recent reports, unfavoured Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o are on their way out of Stamford Bridge, with Besiktas the likely location.

It is no secret that Demba Ba wants regular playing time, and with Eto’o’s contract due to expire as Jose Mourinho is unwilling to extend his stay, Besiktas seems an ideal location for both strikers to perform regularly. Eto’o is currently Chelsea’s top goalscorer with 12 goals, while Ba has 6 in all competitions.

Ba was subject of a bid from Besiktas in January but for the bid to only be knocked back by Chelsea. Besiktas are interested in bringing in a marquee signing to tie in with the opening of their stadium which is scheduled to open this summer. Not only this, significantly a key agent in the country, Ceylan Caliskan, has claimed ” i talk closely with Demba Ba, he wants to play for a Turkish Club but i can’t comment on a transfer yet.” Trabzonspor have also been closely linked with the 28-year-old striker and are expected to make a summer offer.

With both strikers increasing in age, it is hard to see a future for them at Stamford Bridge. Jose mourinho seemingly is keen to bring in some fresh strikers in the summer, so this can only spell the end for the pair.
