2. Gary Speed – 614 Games
In number two of our list it’s Gary Speed, the former Welsh Footballer and Manager.
Speed started his football career at Leeds United, where he had his best peak of his football career before joining Everton F.C.
At Leeds United, Speed was selected in the PFA Team of the Year for the 1992-93 season, before eventually joining Everton.
The midfielder then spent time at Newcastle United, Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield United.
Sadly, Gary Speed died on 27 November 2011Â
