If the truth be told, no game in the entire world, let alone football, would be enthralling if it didn’t have to sets of fans going down each other’s necks over silly banters. The supporters are rightly deemed as the 12th man in football; their reactions at a game can actually make or break players.

Real Madrid is known to boast the largest fanbase throughout the globe. Thanks to the massive worldwide support they receive, the Santiago Bernabeu sees thousands of fans flock into its seats on every weekend.

While it does have a lot of friends to feel proud about, Real Madrid also has a set of famous celebrities as who support them. Let’s have a look at who these stars are!

10. Penelope Cruz

Penelope Cruz is one of the most lissome and beautiful ladies to have climbed the steps of Hollywood. Known for starring in movies like Blow and Open Your Eyes, she is also known to be a fervent admirer of Los Blancos. She seems to be following the same path as her ex-husband Antonio Banderas, who is also a well-known Madridista.

As a matter of fact, Cruz also lives in the La Finca Estate, close to Gareth Bale and former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.

9. Jennifer Lopez

Coming to her career graph, Jennifer Lopez is known to have sold about 75 million copies of her albums. She is also this outgoing girl known to battle Anacondas on-screen. Beyond that, she is anything but a loyal Real Madrid supporter.

J-Lo has snapped pictures with Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos and that isn’t the first of many since she is known to attend games at the Bernabeu in her spare time.

8. Fernando Alonso

Coming to the race tracks first, Fernando Alonso is a household name to all those who are die-hard fsns of Motorsport and love watching F1 cars whizz past them.

There’s a tradition in Spain where many football fans follow two clubs – one from the city which they are born and one that contests for the LaLiga titles. Alonso also loves Real Oviedo and is an avid follower of Real Madrid.

He also once compared the feeling of driving for McLaren to that of playing for Real Madrid. He said,

“If I was a footballer, then I would like to play for Real Madrid, the team I support and love. Driving for McLaren is like playing for Real Madrid.”

7. King Abdullah II

King Abdullah II of Jordan is probably the most powerful supporter Real Madrid have been blessed with. The 57-year-old is an avid Los Blancos supporter and welcomed Florentino Perez to Jordan back in 1999.

The two men talked about the glorious past of Real Madrid. While he might have wished for the Merengues to be even more successful back then, King Abdullah must definitely have his heart swelling with pride after watching them win the Champions League for three consecutive years.

6. Enrique Iglesias

Enrique Iglesias is well-adept at crooning beautiful romantic songs. What he is also good at is being a loyal Madridista, just like his father Julio Iglesias.

Julio Iglesias is a famous singer and songwriter who also had a spell at Real Madrid as a goalkeeper. However, his dream of manning the posts for his beloved club ended in the aftermath of a fatal accident.

Enrique is a self-confessed Madridista. He was born in Madrid and even though he moved to the United States of America at the age of 11, the singer still proudly supports his home club. He is also a huge fan of Xabi Alonso and Iker Casillas, albeit he has confessed about Lionel Messi being the greatest player in the world.

5. Shakira

Now that’s a controversial name on this list. Spanish singer and one of the world’s most famous pop stars, Shakira was allegedly a huge Madridista. However, that was until she met Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and decided to change her alleigance.

Married to the Barcelona center-back, the singer also has photos of a her sporting a Real Madrid tshirt with her name at the back beside none other than Florentino Perez, the Real Madrid president.

However, since she made a border-line switch in her allegiance, Shakira’s songs were banned in the Real Madrid dressing room and in and around the Bernabeu. Guess Luis Figo isn’t the only one who has felt the wrath of one of the two sets of fans after making a direct switch.

4. Tom Cruise

Who doesn’t know the Mission Impossible star? Tom Cruise is well-reputed for performing his own stunts in the Hollywood action movies and is as one of the country’s greatest ever actors.

Cruise was apparently invited to a game by an old friend none other than famous British footballer David Beckham. Tom Cruise attended a crucial game against Real Mallorca, where the Merengues needed to win by just a point to clinch the league title.

However, Beckham and his co-stars had to stage an epic comeback after staying down 1-0 down for a large part of the game. Needless to say, that was pretty much enough to turn Cruise into a Madridista.

3. Hritik Roshan

Hritik Roshan is one of the greatest actors in the Bollywood industry. The B-town star is mainly known for his gorgeous looks and the fact that he has won the Sexiest Male in Asia award a couple of times.

Off the screen, Roshan is known to be a Madridista himself. The Indian actor was seen promoting the 17th edition of the IIFA Awards in Spain, with fellow co-actors Sonakshi Sinha and Anil Kapoor.

The trio were given a guide through the Santiago Bernabeu and also clicked pictures with Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

2. Viggo Mortensen

Who doesn’t remember Viggo Mortensen, the saviour of Frodo Baggins and a crucial protagonist in the Lord of the Rings trilogy? Apart from being an actor, the Danish-American is also a decent photographer, poet, musician and painter.

Mortensen is also a huge Real Madrid supporter. However, he isn’t just that famous guy who visits the Bernabeu for PR activities and celebrity events. He is a football aficionado himself and was also heard vehemently criticizing Jose Mourinho’s tactics on a radio station, back when the Special One managed Real Madrid.

1. Rafa Nadal

When it comes to Tennis, few know the art of wielding a racket better than Rafael Nadal. Affectionately nicknamed as the ‘King of Clay’, the Spaniard has been at the top of his game for the past decade. He is hands down one of the greatest men ever to have graced the tennis pitch.

Off the pitch, Nadal is also known to be a huge Los Blancos supporter. However, many would be surprised to know that the tennis star was initially a Barcelona. His uncle Miguel Angel Nadal was a defender for the Blaugrana.

Nadal, however, turned out to be a massive Real Madrid fan as he grew up. To talk about his importance, president Florentino Perez has hailed the Spaniard to be his successor at the Santiago Bernabeu.
