3. Mario de Castro – Brazil
Denied by his mother to play football at a young age, Mario de Castro started his career as a senior and as such his career was short but truly magnificent. He scored nearly 200 goals in 100 appearances, a total for his entire career. Mario once won a cap but turned it down knowing that he was going to be a second choice but that shut down his chances of ever getting in the Brazilian National team all the way up to his retirement.
