2. Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo is just like fine wine that gets better with age. Now at 34, the Portuguese giant has surpassed all the bars and levels of expectations in professional football.
Ronaldo made a £106m move to Juventus in 2018, becoming the most expensive player aged 30 amd above. The tremors of his departure were felt for the entire season at Real Madrid, who capped off an abysmal 2018/19 campaign.
With Juve, Ronaldo still showed that he has the ability to adjust anywhere like fish to water. He won the Serie A Capocannonaire and also added the league title to his already flooding trophy cabinet.
Unless and until he retires, the 34-year-old will keep mesmerising football fans to the very end.
1. Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi is the name that strikes terrors in the hearts of the bravest defenders. Just as Chiellini has said, when you face Messi, you just make the sign of the cross.
The Argentinian did everything he is well-known for yet again with the Catalan giants last season. He scored 50 goals in 49 games for Barcelona, averaging above a goal a game for the fifth time in his career. Not just that, but he netted 54% of Barca’s entire goal tally last season.
Unless and until he walks that pitch, Leo Messi will always remain the undisputed master of the beautiful game – a man with hardly any equal except for just one.
