Tottenham chase midfielder and striker

Mauricio Pochettino remains keen to add to his Tottenham Hotspur squad, and has identified Alex Song and Danny Welbeck as potential signings.

Ex-Arsenal midfielder Song would be a suprise move to White Hart Lane having previously turned out for the Gunners, however that didn’t stop chairman Daniel Levy signing other ex Arsenal players Emmanuel Adebayor and William Gallas.

Song has found first team chances limited at Camp Nou with Sergion Busquets ahead of him in the midfield anchoring role. Spurs have been on the look out for a defensive midfielder which was highlighted by the interest in Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin earlier this summer.

With the Saints unwilling to sell any more of their prized assetts, Pochettino could turn to the Cameroonian.

Danny Welbeck has also been made available by Manchester United, and could see himself moving to North London should an acceptable bid be submitted by Tottenham. Roberto Soldado has been linked with AC Milan in recent days, so if he was to move on then Welbeck would provide the Premier League experience that Spurs would hope for a potential replacement.

Hull and Newcastle remain keen on Welbeck, as well as previous loan club Sunderland so Spurs would face competition for the forward’s signature.
