The World Cup winner is certainly going to be out a while.
Hugo Lloris will be assessed to ascertain the length of his injury lay-off after he suffered a dislocated elbow.
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was stretchered off in agony after his early blunder led to Brighton’s opener in a 3-0 win over Mauricio Pochettino’s faltering side. Lloris failed to hold an tricky cross from Pascal Gross, falling awkwardly backwards as Neal Maupay gave the Seagulls a third minute lead in the Premier League match on Saturday.
In addition, Tottenham have confirmed Lloris dislocated his elbow after he was assessed at a nearby hospital. A statement on their official website said: “We can confirm that Hugo Lloris sustained a dislocated elbow during Saturday’s match against Brighton.
“Our club captain was stretchered off as a result of the injury and will return to London after being assessed at a local hospital. Assessment will continue in the coming week to ascertain the full extent of the injury and the length of time he will require to undergo rehabilitation.”
Lloris hasn’t been up to his usual standards the past two seasons, but has still been above average. Gazzaniga hasn’t disappointed, though, and should seize a chance which will likely last well over a month.
