Tottenham Hotspur fullback, Serge Aurier was reportedly arrested last Saturday for suspicions of domestic assault towards his girlfriend, Hencha Voigt.
The Ivory Coast international was held in prison for hours before being released without any charges. He was forced to miss Spurs’ crucial clash against Manchester United the next day which his side lost 0-1 at Wembley.
Aurier reportedly could not be charged after the 26-year-old denied all accusations. The entire incident started back in the couple’s mansion back in Hertfordshire.
Both Aurier and Voigt live with their infant daughter. Suspicions arose when the two got into a heated argument on Saturday night and Aurier was thought to have acted violently against his partner.
This is not the first time the former Paris Saint-Germain forward has been caught in a run in with the law. He has been arrested in the past outside a Paris night-club for declining to take a breath analyser test.
Aurier was sentenced to a two-month jail sentence for the incident but he managed to get away with it after his appeal. He also was denied entry back into the UK for a Champions League fixture against Arsenal in 2016 for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
It is understood that Mauricio Pochettino holds a tight ship back at North London. However, it is also unclear how far the Argentine’s patience will run with Aurier. Time will tell if Tottenham will take actions of their own regarding the incident.
