Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a serious injury blow with the news that Christian Eriksen could miss up to six weeks due to an ankle injury.

The Danish international was playing against Norway in an international friendly and with just 40-minutes on the clock, he went down clutching at his ankle, which forced him to hobble off and be substituted.

The 21-year-old, who signed for Spurs this Summer, is expected to return to London today so that he can get checked out by the club’s medical team, but according to the Denmark manager, it could be a long-term blow.

He said: “We don’t know if he’s out for four or six weeks or how long it will take.

“It’s bad for him at a new club.”
