Tottenham Hotspur target Christian Benteke

Tottenham Hotspur are keen to strengthen their striking options and have turned their attentions too Aston Villa’s star-asset Christian Benteke.

The Belgium handed in a formal transfer request in the Summer, but later decided to withdraw it and sign a new deal at Villa Park.

However, it may now look like a £28million bid from Tottenham, could persuade the striker to finally leave Villa.

Benteke has made it clear that he dreams of playing in the Champions League one day and with Spurs pushing for a top-four finish, he may be tempted with a move to White Hart Lane in January.

Despite being prepared to offer £28million, it is believed that Paul Lambert and co. want at least £35million for the striker.
