Tottenham Hotspur Targeting Watford Midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring the development of Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is very keen to rope in the player in a bid to replace Victor Wanyama. The 27 year old suffered a number of injuries which have halted his progress at the North London club.

Wanyama came from Southampton in 2016 but has failed to nail a permanent spot in the starting lineup this term. Wanyama’s struggle has been very visible this term and the midfielder has further fallen in the pecking order following the resurgence of Harry Winks who clearly is a Pochettino favourite.

Doucoure has been the flag bearer for the Hornets and has pulled all the strings in the midfield. His ability to dominate the middle of the park with his sheer presence has been a big boost for Javy Gracia’s side.

Liverpool are also believed to be in the race for the midfield anchorman. The Reds are reportedly interested in acquiring the service of the midfielder but it seems they have to face a very stiff battle with Pochettino’s side.

Watford value the player at roughly £50m and should the player manage to find a new club in near future they are set to earn a substantial profit from the sale of their most prized asset.
