Tottenham Hotspur's New Stadium Will Not Play Into Anything - Kevin De Bruyne

Manchester City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne has not given in to the hype of Tottenham Hotspur’s newly renovated stadium.

Both teams are due to face off at the White Hart Lane for the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. Spurs have been allowed to shift their European home fixtures from the Wembley to the renovated North London grounds.

It reportedly can accommodate 62,062 spectators which is expected to add to the hue of the home support. However, De Bruyne has no care for the location of the pitch.

He said, “I don’t care about the stadium. I care about the team we play. Everybody talks about the stadium like it’s something special. Everybody has a stadium, everybody has supporters. They’ll be up for it, they’ll probably be a little bit more excited, but in the end, it’s a stadium with supporters. I don’t think there will be any difference.”

City are currently second in the Premier League, having already grabbed the Carabo Cup and also a spot in the FA Cup finals after beating Brighton And Hove Albion.

Pep Guardiola has been vocal about the Etihad-based club’s ambitions of winning the Quadruple this season but De Bruyne has stated that there is “no point thinking about it”.

The 27-year-old further added, “You know how heavy the schedule is? I think people underestimate how the fixtures come that quickly. We don’t even have time to have a rest ourselves so how can we think about what’s going to happen in four weeks?”
