Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Southampton starlet Luke Shaw as Andre Villas-Boas eyes defensive improvement in the wake of their 6-0 thrashing from Manchester City.
Spurs are not the only Premier League side interested in the 18-year-old, as both Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on his signature as well, but The Lilywhites are confident that they are in the lead to sign the young left-back.
However, Mauricio Pochettino is desperate not to sell Shaw and is refusing to listen to any offers in the January transfer window and according to reports, the Argentine boss will want at least £30million if he is to sell in the Summer.
Villas-Boas is desperate for a new left-back after Danny Rose sustained an injury and hasn’t been impressive even when fit and current stand-in Jan Vertonghen is not happy being deployed down the side of the back-four.
Despite the price-tag put on Shaw, a move to White Hart Lane could potentially be on the cards as his agent is also the agent of Erik Lamela, who joined Spurs this Summer from AS Roma.
