Tottenham Keeping Close Tabs On Andre Gomes

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a close eye on Everton loanee, Andre Gomes. Following a disappointing summer of no transfers, Mauricio Pochettino might be looking towards a few ambitious moves in the coming window.

Gomes struck out at Barcelona but has found new life at the Goodison Park this season. He has made 8 appearances and a single assist for the Toffees so far into the 2017/18 season. The central midfielder admitted to being affected by his treacherous period at the Camp Nou. He was quoted, “I feel more like a man now. Now I feel mature and experienced. I’m really happy to be in the Premier League and England.”

Being the technically adequate player that he is, Gomes could be a prime fit into Pochettino’s side next season. The Portuguese international likes to operate from deep positions but has the creative bone to affect things up front.

His loan spell might have been sentenced for the entire season but Spurs are menacingly looking towards a January sweep up. Given their inactivity in the summer, the North London side might have enough funds to make one key signing despite their obvious expenditures in stadium renovations.

However, given the financial pedigree of the new age Everton side, could Tottenham really combat their way into this transfer? With Marco Silva at the helm, the Toffees are looking to bring around some change to their Premier League status.
