The midfielder has been linked with a summer exit

Tottenham started the last term off on a positive note but only managed to secure a spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season, ending the campaign trophy less.

Though their manager Mauricio Pochettino signed a new long term contract with the club and has talked about changing their mentality to claim Silverware. He looking to strengthen the squad in the transfer window for the upcoming season.

Spurs are keeping an eye on Mario Gotze’s situation with Borussia Dortmund, according to Football London . They have long been interested in him and have been priced out of any move previously.

The midfielder was on top of the world when he fired Germany to World Cup glory in Brazil in 2014 with a dramatic extra-time winner against Argentina. But he has endured a difficult four years since then,  fallen from the limelight in due to injury and illness.

The rest of his time at Bayern Munich didn’t went well as he struggled for regular game time and struggled to shine under Pep Guardiola. He returned back to his former club Borussia Dortmund in 2016 in order to get more first team football.

However, halfway through an injury-hit 2016/17 season it was discovered that the 26 year old had a metabolic disorder which had been affecting his performances with fatigue and muscle weakness.

The German International old showed glimpses of his talent last season, scoring 2 goals and assisting 6 in 32 games. But still didn’t went the way he was hoping for and missed a place in the Germany World Cup squad.

He is looking to kickstart his career and is keen to move to Premier League as he believes a fresh start in the biggest league in the world will give him the perfect platform to showcase his ability again. Some reports have stated that Gotze could be available for as little as £18 million this summer.

Arsenal are also believed to be interested in the player as Unai Emery looking to strengthen his squad this summer.
