Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have made a £7million bid for Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen as they look for a suitable replacement for Gareth Bale, who is set to leave White Hart Lane.
Spurs are closing to signing Roma’s Erik Lamela for around £30million and they were also close to signing Willian from Anzhi for the same fee, but the Brazilian eventually chose to join Chelsea instead.
With Bale set to depart for around £86million, Andre Villas-Boas is keen to replace him with numerous signings so that Spurs have the depth to compete for silverware and his attentions have now turned to the 21-year-old Dane.
It is believed that Spurs have already made a £7million bid for the Ajax man, but the Dutch club are wanting at least £12million for the highly-rated youngster.
