Spurs have made an offer for World Cup winner Benjamin Pavard

Tottenham Hotspurs have made a bid of £44 million for French defender and World Cup winner, Benjamin Pavard.

Reports from TEAMtalk, suggest that Spurs are keen to sign the defender as there were reports that Belgian ace Toby Alderweireld is desperate for a move this summer.

Mauricio Pochettini wants a player with similar strength and Pavard’s recent success and versatility to play attacking football has made his demand high.

The 22-year-old has been very impressive while playing at right-back for France. But th player actually plays at centre back for his present club Stuttgart.

Playing for Stuttgart, the defender has scored twice from the 81 appearances he mad for the club. Pavard’s value has risen all time high with his recent success with the French Team in the ongoing World cup and he wont come cheap. He will be available for €35 million (£31m/$41m) in 2019 due to a release clause in his contract.

The player hinted for a move this summer in his talks with Goal. He said, “I am in Stuttgart, I have a contract. There is an end of season to manage, the best position to secure, the national team too. We’ll see what happens in the future.”

The player is also linked to be approached from clubs like  Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and PSG

However it may be hard for the clubs to sign the player as Michael Reschke , the sports director at VfB Stuttgart has said that the club  has no desire to cash in the player.
